A short post-lunch walk with James.Route: Leaving the car at a carpark in Grange over Sands and walking north on Windermere Road to take a path on the left uphill through woods. Consistently following paths signed for Hampsfell rising slowly and diagonally across the side of the massif to reach a crossroads at a wall at the edge of the woods. Then, on a rising path signed to the Hospice. Back on a path to the west of the outward route to reach a track and then road descending into Grange.
Conditions: A dry interlude between rain.
Pub: Beforehand, the Crown at High Newton for OSB Detention and Loweswater Gold. Afterwards, bluebird cocktails at home.
