A solitary 7km Sunday evening jog for L (to meet T at the pub)
Route: from the rectory, turning south down Lorton Road to reach Towers Lane and run up to Simonscales Lane, crossing over to take linked paths between the fields and the housing round to Greyrigg Avenue. Left along this to the next snickleway right through to Dale View, then left along this to the end and the path down to the river. Crossing the river on the footbridge and taking Fern Bank up and right up as far as Parkside Avenue, there turning left to follow this round to Lamplugh Road.At Lamplugh Road, lured by a snickleway opposite, making a pointless loop through Homewood Paddock and back to the road, there turning back up north east to run up to Brigham Road and follow this all the way along to the Parklands. Turning right on this and running all the way down to Low Road (opposite Lakes Home Centre) and along to Aldi to join the very end of the Greenway.
Following the Greenway as far as Sullart Street - where the Greenway turns north east briefly - there following a lane (beside the old RC primary school) up to the Level. Turning left (east) along the Level to run up Fern Bank to the second entrance to Harris Park and running south round the edge of the park (round the tennis courts) to zigzag down paths towards the river and eventually down to Rubbybanks Road.
Running along by the river, under the bridge, almost as far as the footbridge to watch a heron, and then doubling back a little to run along a private road behind riverside cottages down to turn left on Croft Terrace, becoming South Street, and along to the Cock and Bull pub to meet Tim.After a drink, running home along Lorton Street, Tweed Mill Lane and Lorton Road.
Conditions: overcast and cool
Pub: after 6km, the Cock and Bull for a half of ??? IPA with T
